Map or the course

Note: If you have run our course before please note that the course has been reversed relative to prior events.

From the start on the road below the dam proceed for just over 1km.  Just after this point make a U-turn to the left and take the road at the top of the dam.  On reaching the end of the dam you will be directed past the building and take the perimiter road past the sailing club.  At about 3.5km ensure you take the lower road below the second dam.  Shortly after the 4km marker, again take the lower road past the third dam.  Running along the bottom road you will got past the water station.  At the end of the dam join the main perimiter road and complete the course with a further 4.5km on this rouad.

Please take care and watch your footing on the run.

Other Site Users

There may be fishermen moving around the perimeter road. We are requesting that they are considerate to you by not passing you from behind. Our marshals will endeavour to keep your route traffic free but be aware of possible cars approaching you from in front.

You should also be aware of the nature of trout fishing with flies, hooks and lines thrown back behind the fishermen although they also have an obligation to minimise risk.

Especially when in the area of the Visitor Centre you should be aware of other facility users possibly utilising or crossing your route. These may be pedestrians, Sailing Club members, cyclists, even runners not associated with this event. We all have an equal right to be here and should respect that of each other.

At around the 5km point there is a water station. Please take water there even if you feel you don't need it as there are no opportunities beyond that point until you reach the finish.

Water is also provided at the finish.

Marshalls and First Aid

There will be marshals at every kilometre point who are there to assist and encourage you.

We also have marshal who will be cycling around at the back of the field to ensure that nobody is left behind.  You need to complete the run at a gentle jog pace to remain within the time limit of two hours. If you are too slow you will be asked to give up your running number. At that point you will be free to continue on the course as a walking member of the general public. We will provide a lift to the finish if you require it.

We have first aiders on duty though we hope their services will not be required. Please ensure that you have completed, as fully as possible, the information requested on the back of your race number. Do not push yourself beyond your own endurance and if you do require assistance the Marshalls are there to help by calling for the medical team.

After the Race

After you have crossed the finish line, you will be presented with a medal.  Bottles of water and other items will be available.

Results will be posted on the RunBritian site and our own site.
